Check the actual mounting point's power and 2.4 GHz coverage before selecting a device.
A detached garage can be only a short walk from the house and still have poor connectivity at the intended camera position. Walls, doors and the router's location matter more than the distance in a listing description. Test the real point rather than the driveway beside it.
C120 and G100 require their documented wired-power and network arrangements. Do not buy a hub or another camera on an assumption that it will automatically extend Wi-Fi to the garage. Any separate network work belongs in the proposal before camera quantities are finalized.
Check the conditions with the garage door in its normal positions and consider service access to power and storage. If the connection cannot be made suitable, resolve that first. A correctly scoped network-and-camera purchase avoids paying for image features that cannot be used reliably at the place they are needed.
Before you order
- Test the intended mounting location.
- Review wired power and exposure conditions.
- Separate any required network work.
A useful next step
Provide garage, router and power locations before comparing camera options.
