The easiest keypad to reach is not always the easiest to use privately

Check the lock's keypad accessibility from your usual approach side before buying.

When choosing a smart lock, consider the keypad's accessibility from the side you usually approach the door. The Aqara Smart Lock U50 and U100 both offer keypad entry, but their designs may differ in terms of accessibility.

The U50 has a keypad, while the U100 features a built-in fingerprint reader and a matte keypad. Consider which type of entry method you prefer and whether it will be easily accessible from your usual approach side.

Before making a purchase, try to simulate your usual approach to the door and check if the keypad is easily reachable. This will ensure that you can conveniently use your smart lock without any difficulties.

Additionally, consider the door's thickness and the diameter of the door hole to ensure the smart lock will fit properly. The U100 is designed for wooden doors with a thickness between 1 3/8-inch to 2 11/64-inch (35-55mm) and a door hole diameter of 2 1/8-inch (54mm).
