Choose FP2 for a considered zone-based brief; shortlist FP1E when a supported room-presence routine is enough.
A sofa, desk and dining table in one open room can justify separate responses. A small room needing one occupied-or-empty lighting decision may not benefit from that extra planning.
FP2's zone approach needs continuous USB power, suitable Wi-Fi and careful calibration. FP1E follows a compatible Aqara Zigbee hub route; do not buy it expecting the same FP2 zone experience.
Write one useful action for each proposed zone. If you cannot explain why the desk should differ from the sofa, simplify the setup. The better buy is the sensor whose extra capability you will actually use.
