Choose U100 when fingerprint entry solves a daily inconvenience. Put U50 on the shortlist when keypad entry is enough.
Think about the first person home with groceries, children arriving after school and anyone who dislikes using a phone at the doorstep. A fingerprint reader can remove a repeated step. If everyone already prefers a code, that extra feature may add little value.
Both locks still need a suitable door. A premium unlocking method will not fix a latch that catches. For remote functions, include the compatible Aqara hub in the shopping list instead of comparing the locks alone.
Keep an ordinary backup method and decide who will replace batteries. Those decisions matter more to a household than another app screen.
Before you order
- Measure door, bore and backset.
- Choose a preferred daily entry method.
- Include hub and backup arrangements.
A useful next step
