Agree a short set of normal-use and fallback tasks, then demonstrate them with the authorised customer.
Write each task in terms of the room or user action rather than an app setting. For a lighting scene, include entering, remaining still where relevant, changing the light manually and leaving. The required behaviour should come from the accepted scope, not a surprise demonstration at the end.
Record the tested devices and any exceptions. If an automation needs adjustment, leave the item open with a next step rather than marking the whole project complete. The customer should understand what has passed and what remains a proposal.
Ask the user to perform the important manual actions themselves. This checks whether the handover is practical, not simply whether the installer can operate the system. A modest package with a clear acceptance result can be easier to recommend than a larger setup delivered without explanation.
Before you order
- Agree normal-use and fallback tasks beforehand.
- Record exceptions with a responsible next step.
- Have the authorised user operate key controls.
