Compare the required behaviour and dependencies before seeking customer approval for a substitution.
Start from the accepted task: simple occupied-room detection, multiple room zones or a particular platform route. A change from FP2 to another presence model should not inherit FP2 features by default. Check power, placement and hub requirements as part of the replacement decision.
Explain the difference in the revised equipment list and state any change to setup or testing work. The customer should not discover at handover that the cheaper or available alternative removed a function they considered essential.
Keep the original line and the approved replacement record together. If no suitable substitute meets the required behaviour, revise the schedule or scope instead of forcing an inappropriate item into the order. Availability is a reason to review the purchase, not proof that a different model is equivalent.
