Choose one useful scenario and record the input, rule and output. For example, identify which sensor state triggers which light action and what happens when the user intervenes manually. The test should use the same model and integration route proposed to buyers.
Note the vendor-app functions that remain separate. A bridge may expose basic actions while advanced settings stay in the original app. Firmware, network and account assumptions belong beside the result, not hidden in a technician’s memory.
Repeat the test after the configuration has been restored from its normal setup process. If only one expert can make it work through undocumented adjustments, it is not yet a dependable retail package. Keep the offer as a scoped pilot until the process is reproducible.
