Track regional model, package revision and project allocation at receiving, before boxes become mixed.
Use the printed product identifiers rather than a shorthand such as “Aqara sensor.” The original contact sensor and P2 have different controller requirements. A similar package size does not make them interchangeable when an installer is expecting a defined configuration.
Keep sample units, unallocated sale stock and customer-assigned equipment distinguishable. If an item is reassigned, update the record rather than moving the box silently. Accessories and any recorded serial numbers should travel with that change.
Review the allocation before dispatch and compare it with the approved equipment list. This simple discipline can prevent an expensive site delay without requiring a new management platform. The important outcome is that the receiving installer can identify what has arrived and why it belongs to the job.
Before you order
- Record exact model and regional identifiers.
- Distinguish samples from assigned customer stock.
- Check allocations against the approved list.
