Record the desired behaviour, existing equipment and unresolved questions before referring a project.
Write what the customer wants the system to do in ordinary language. Add the exact existing controller or hub where known, and distinguish facts from guesses. A photograph of a brand logo is less useful than a model number and a description of the current behaviour.
Keep the handoff short enough to read before a site visit. Include country, project type, affected rooms and relevant physical conditions. Do not put account passwords or unnecessary personal details into a sales worksheet shared across companies.
Ask the receiving installer to confirm what still needs assessment. A brief is a starting point, not an approved design. When the project comes back for procurement, compare the final list with the recorded goal so the sales and installation conversations remain connected.
Before you order
- Describe the requested behaviour without jargon.
- Separate verified models from assumptions.
- Keep credentials outside the shared brief.
